A Friday To Be Remembered

A Friday to be remembered.

It was Friday, our day started as usual. My wife woke up a bit early to prepare our lunches. It was around 7:45 AM when my wife sparked the conversation about the Northern Lights occurrence that night that she had seen one of the Insta handles the night prior. We were excited. Soon, we got engrossed in our work and the day began to get busier. It was 5 PM, time to go home for the weekend. Since it was Friday, we had our dinner, thanks to my wife, she made the dinner by 6:30 PM, and we had it. Today, it was my turn to do the utensils. I did that.

After having winters until mid-April, that day was bright and sunny and temperatures soared to 25 degrees Celsius. So, we decided to go for a walk. We chose to go to Princess Island Park, a very serene and beautiful place to walk by the riverside. One can enjoy different shades of sky as day transitions towards night. As it was a hot day, we decided to eat ice cream and end the day on a sweet note.

We came back to our apartment by 9:30 PM and watched TV. I just changed my clothes and wore a nightdress. While I was scrolling reels, there came a pop-up from a friend, that they were going out of the city to watch Aurora. It was then that we recalled that we had planned this in the morning and somehow forgot. So, we changed our clothes, put on our jackets, and started our journey to Ghost Lake. It was a good 1-hour drive. While we were still on our way, our friends started sharing pics of the Aurora they were witnesses. This was making my wife impatient, as this was the first time she would be watching the beauty of the skies. Soon, we reached it, and luckily, we did not have to struggle for parking.

After waiting for 15 minutes, we saw the dazzling beauty dancing in the skies. It was like they were fighting with the darkness to show their presence. It was like a poetry competition where Aurora and Dark Sky were playing their rhymes. Different shades emerged like Green, purple etc. We took some photos and videos. At around 1:45 we started our return journey. It was a colourful start to our weekend.

Stay tuned for the weekend activities to be shared. Thanks for reading.
